CHERCHEURS ENTRE REVES ET REALITE : A NEW LOOK AT SCIENCE AND SCIENTISTS

By Samy Brunett

Synopsis

The most powerful particle accelerator ever imagined is being built, a hundred meter deep in the ground, in the Geneva suburb. Physicists will soon be able to recreate in the lab the first instants of the Universe : a dream of knowing where we come from, of understanding the universal Law that rules Nature, of establishing the Theory of Everything.

For that dream to come true, scientists have thought of a machine at the rim of technological feasibility. Today they build huge underground cathedrals, full of electronic equipment in search of the “ divine particle ”, the Higgs boson, the missing link of the Theory of Everything.

A production Blue in Green, Les Films de la Passerelle. In coproduction with L’Unité Documentaire de la RTBF Liège. In association with La Cinquième. With the support of du Centre du Cinéma et de l’Audiovisuel de la Communauté française de Belgique et des télédistributeurs wallons
