Synopsis
This documentary recounts the exceptional life and tragic destiny of André Cools, murdered 25 years ago. His life spans the history of Belgium and Wallonia in the second half of the last century, in which he was one of the major players... Born into a working-class Flemish family, he became involved in politics, after the assassination of his father by the Nazis during the Second World War. A turbulent young socialist deputy, rebel of instructions and close to the union leader, André Renard, he engaged, at the end of the general strike of the winter of 1960, in the fight for federalism and for progressive structural reforms of Belgium.
