Synopsis
2014 Sakharov Award winner, Doctor Mukwege is internationally known as the man who repairs the thousands of women raped during 20 years of conflict in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country among the poorest on the planet, but under -extremely rich soil. His incessant fight to put an end to these atrocities and denounce the impunity enjoyed by the guilty is disturbing. At the end of 2012, the Doctor was the subject of a new assassination attempt, from which he miraculously escaped. Threatened with death, this doctor with an exceptional destiny now lives cloistered in his hospital in Bukavu, under the protection of United Nations peacekeepers. But he is no longer alone in his struggle. At his side, these women to whom he restored their physical integrity and their dignity, who thanks to him became true peace activists, thirsty for justice.
