"Marchands de Miracles" is a journey into the heart of Kinshasa, to discover the healing churches, also known as churches of revival.

 

Their promises of healing incurable diseases, obtaining visas for the European Eldorado, or immediate prosperity attract the majority of Congolese to these churches. It's a bewildering universe where the violence of the cults mirrors that of the misery; where the tragi-comic discourse of the televangelists, somewhere between cynicism, megalomania and surrealism, responds to the desperate naiveté of the faithful.
